thriller film? Do you like mystery? Then you should watch this film by Joko
Anwar title Pintu Terlarang or its
English title is ‘Forbidden Door’. Filled with a lot of scary scenes and filled
with big mystery will make you scared to watch this film but at the same time
you will curious to see its ending. Joko Anwar never stops to surprise us with
good films and Pintu Terlarang is one
of them. Go watch this film if you like adrenaline to flow in your vein.
Gambir (Fachri Albar) is a
successful sculptor in every exhibition his sculpture always sold out. However,
he hides a big secret behind his success. His live start to change after he
receives a lot of message ‘Tolong Saya’ or help me in English by a little boy.
Then he found a place called ‘Herosase’ a place where people can watch illegal
show that record people activity 24/7. In that place, he sees that the boy his
one of the people in that illegal show. Gambir then tries to find out who that
boy is and help him. Can he save the boy? And what is the mystery behind that
tv show? Just watch the film.

After work for the first time with
Joko Anwar and gives a good impression in Kala
(2007), Fachri Albar gave us an improved and amazing acting in his third
time working with Joko Anwar. His soft voice and his handsome mainly face make
him really fit to play the character Gambir who is calm and a bit timid. He
also portrays really well the change of kind Gambir to aggressive and a bit
psycho Gambir. Moreover, Marsha Timothy also gives a great performance. Her
tall and sexy proportion and of course her beautiful face really matches the
character of Talyda whom people see as a perfect woman.
Besides the great acting from the
casts, another good thing about this film is the gore element that Joko Anwar
puts in this film. It makes this film creepier than other thriller films at
that time. This film is also so complicated and forced the viewer to think and
focus on even minor detail of the film but you don’t need to worry you will
understand it later. This film just unexpected and need an extra concentration.

This film is really great but still
it is not perfect. The pace of this film is a bit slow. It would have been
better if they can fasten it up a little bit so that the viewer can feel the
tense every minute and every second. There is also logic about time that is a
bit off like when Gambir only has 10 minutes to do something but the way he did
that is clearly more than 10 minutes. There are also some minor details that are
weird but it won’t disturb you unless you have really good awareness to those
things.
All in all, Pintu Terlarang is a thriller film with additions of gore elements.
Not only filled with fearsome scenes but it also filled with some riddles that
make you want to finish this film even though you are frightened. If you like
films that make you think or if you like film with a lot of terrifying scenes,
this film made for you. Pintu Terlarang will
exceed your expectation. Go check this out. You won’t Regret.
